During our stay at the Trakkar monastery, Choghua, the monk who was putting us up in his house, took us for a walk to a sky burial site.  Sky burials are one of the most impressive tradition in Tibetan practice.  When a person dies, his body is taken to this place where is cut to little pieces that are left to the vultures afterwards.  Even bones and teeth are smashed into powder, mix with zampa (barley flour with yak milk) and given to the  vultures.  You can see their feathers around the area and the knives that are left on the site.  White cotton lines on the ground are supposed to tell the spirits the way to go, once outside the bodies.   It is very humbling to realize how Tibetan consider their body after death.

Durante nuestra estancia en el monasterio Trakkar, Choghua, el monje en cuya casa nos habiamos quedado, nos llevo de paseo a un cementerio bajo el cielo.  Estos cementerios son una de las tradiciones Tibetanas mas impresionantes.  Cuando una persona muere, su cuerpo es llevado a estos sitios y cortado en pequeños trozos que se dejan despues para que se los coman los buitres.  Incluso los dientes y los huesos se hacen polvo, se mezclan con zampa (harina de cebada con leche de yak) y se deja a los buitres.  Puedes ver las plumas de los buitres por los alrededores y los cuchillos que utilizan, que se dejan alli mismo.  Unos cordones blancos de algodon en el suelo parecen indicar a los espiritus el camino a seguir una vez que salen fuera del cuerpo.  Es una cura de humilda darse cuenta de como consideran los Tibetanos su cuerpo despues de la muerte.
